Boston Wedding Ideas: Fire and Ice Bar

When you begin to plan your wedding, so many elements make up the celebration.  One important factor to remember is that using your food creatively can be part of your overall wedding design.

Fire and Ice Bar

In New England, wedding caterers love to create "raw" bars for thier events.  Broadway Gourmet had the luxury of creating a couture "Fire and Ice" bar for a lovely couple earlier this month.

With features like local Duxbury oysters on the half shell, fresh lobster rolls, jumbo shrimp cocktail all the usual items were there.  Things got interesting when we added the fire!

For this loft style event, our wedding designer decided to add the element of heat to this contemporary raw bar.  We included hot crab cakes, warm latkes with smoked salmon and caviar, and a tantalizing tuna tataki martini.

The tuna tataki floated on our acrylic display.

Challenge your wedding caterer to be creative and think outside the box.  With Broadway Gourmet, gone are the days of clunky chafers.  Heated porcelain platters are a great way to present crab cakes.

The latkes with smoked salmon were a huge hit.

Your wedding reception will be the most exciting part of your celebration.  When you choose to be creative with your presentation, your guests will leave with the biggest wow effect ever! So take the plunge and go hot and cold and dare to be different.
